🇵🇭 Tagalog — Day 19 Module
Today we take the number foundations you learned on Day 4 (1–20) and extend them into real-world marketplace commerce! Master counting by tens (dalawampu, tatlumpu, apatnapu, limampu...), hundreds (isang daan, limang daan), and thousands (isang libo). Learn how numbers link with currency using '-ng piso' (dalawampung piso, isang daang piso) and evaluate whether prices are affordable or medyo mahal (a bit expensive).
- Count by tens from 20 to 90: dalawampu, tatlumpu, apatnapu, limampu, animnapu, pitumpu, walumpu, siyamnapu
- Count hundreds and thousands: isang daan (100), dalawang daan (200), limang daan (500), isang libo (1,000)
- Build compound numbers using 't: dalawampu't isa (21), tatlumpu't lima (35), limampu't siyam (59)
- Express currency amounts with '-ng piso': dalawampung piso (₱20), isang daang piso (₱100), isang libong piso (₱1,000)
- Understand pricing nuances like 'Medyo mahal' (somewhat expensive)
- Conduct a fluent 60-second marketplace price check and buying interaction
⏱️ Your 30-Minute Daily Schedule
1. ⏱️ 0–5 Min — Number Pronunciation Review & Long Numbers
Warm up with 1–20, then practice syllable clarity and final-syllable stress on the longer tens and hundreds:
Tap 🔊 to hear native Tagalog audio directly on your device. You can also tap 📋 Copy to copy any word to your clipboard, or tap 🌐 Listen to open native pronunciation in Google Translate.
Practice Syllables
Practice saying the core priority numbers in succession:
dalawampu (20) • tatlumpu (30) • limampu (50) • isang daan (100) • limang daan (500) • isang libo (1,000)
Notice how every tens number (20–90) ends with -pu (shortened from sampu / ten). Keep the accent on that final -PU to sound authentic!
