Phase 2: Building Conversation • Day 48 of 90 ⏱️ 30 Minutes Intermediate Beginner

🇵🇭 Tagalog — Day 48 Module

Contrasting Desires: Using 'Ayoko' (I Don't Want/Like) and 'Pero' (But)

Today you learn to express negative preferences and politely decline offers. The core word is 'ayoko' (I don't like / I don't want), the opposite of 'gusto ko'. You will practice answering yes/no questions, combining positive and negative statements using 'pero' (but), and expressing your boundaries naturally.

🎯 Today's Goal: Express dislikes, decline food or activities politely, and contrast preferences using 'ayoko' and 'pero'.
  • Master the cornerstone negative pseudo-verb 'ayoko' (I don't like / I don't want)
  • Contrast positive and negative desires: 'Gusto ko ng...' vs 'Ayoko ng...'
  • Answer polarizing questions naturally: 'Oo, gusto ko' vs 'Hindi, ayoko'
  • Connect contrasting ideas using 'pero' (but)
  • Decline offers politely in dining, shopping, and everyday social settings
  • Score 9+/10 on the Day 48 Dislikes & Negation Test
